Sunita L. Wiliams (Captain, U.S. Navy) NASA Astronaut
Sunita L. Williams (Suni) was selected as an astronaut by NASA in 1998 and is a veteran of two space missions Expeditions 14/15 and 32/33. She is currently assigned to the cadre of astronauts training to fly the initial test flights for America’s first commercially built spacecraft the Boeing CST-100 Starliner and SpaceX Dragon. She and her crewmates are working closely with the commercial providers to develop their new spacecraft systems, which will eventually provide round-trip crew transportation services to the International Space Station beginning in 2017. She is interviewed in the feature documentary film THE MARS GENERATION.
Nora Kay Foster, Panelist, Science and Storytelling
Kay and her longtime writing partner, Adam Armus, are currently developing a series based on the comic book series, SINATORO, written by Grant Morrison and for AMAZON STUDIOS. Prior to that, they created and executive produced NBC’s AMERICAN ODYSSEY. Previously, they were Executive Producers on the FOX series, THE FOLLOWING and spent several years on an overall at UNIVERSAL where they ran the hit series HEROES. Kay and Adam started their careers working their way through the ranks of three of David E. Kelley’s shows. Prior to launching their writing partnership, Kay was an educator and marketing executive and Adam was a practicing attorney.
Doug Jung, Panelist, Science and Storytelling
After graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Doug Jung’s first feature was CONFIDENCE starring Ed Burns and Dustin Hoffman. He’s written extensively for television as well as film, including HBO’s BIG LOVE and as co-creator of TNT’s DARK BLUE. STAR TREK BEYOND was his 2nd project with JJ Abrahams and Bad Robot and continues with the soon to be released GOD PARTICLE. He recently completed production on the pilot SCALPED, based on the acclaimed DC/Vertigo graphic novel. His projects in TV and Film have included scripts for Martin Scorcese, Michael Mann and David Fincher.
