Why is this year different than before the pandemic?

In the early days of the COVID pandemic we watched with great concern as film festivals large and small canceled or postponed their events. Shortly after the spate of cancellations, and as the universal scope of the pandemic became clear, the festival world came together to support each other and to figure out how to save film festivals. The result was the creation of the Virtual Film Festival.
Over the past year we’ve worked hard to re-imagine and plan the best course of action for the 30th Woods Hole Film Festival. For 2021, the result for 2021 is a hybrid event that is both in-person and virtual. Due to the uncertainty around the timing of re-opening Massachusetts, the in-person part of the Festival is more limited than in the past, but we hope to return to full in-person capacity by 2022. We are adamant about presenting this year’s Festival in a structure that incorporates all of the elements of the Woods Hole Film Festival, accounting for health and safety. We hope you will enjoy the Festival and consider supporting us with your DONATION. In this challenging time your donation matters more than ever.
Please check back often for updates or sign up here for the Festival newsletter so you can receive timely information.
