A leaf sheep (Costasiella kuroshimae) is a tiny, adorable species of sea slug—or sacoglossan sea slug—that looks remarkably like a cartoon sheep or a leaf. Found in shallow tropical waters near Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines, these creatures are famous for being one of the few animals in the world that can perform photosynthesis.

Inspired by true events, two best friends, Tariq, an Omani teenager and Cai, a privileged Westerner, conspire to steal animals from the zoo and sell them on the black market to raise money for Tariq’s sister’s divorce from an abusive marriage.
