Volunteer 2023
Volunteers are the backbone of the Woods Hole Film Festival. With the help of our amazing volunteers, we are able to bring together filmmakers, screenwriters, actors, audiences and independent film enthusiasts from all walks of life for our films and events. The Festival is an exciting and memorable experience during the summer festival and the year-round series.

We’re looking for volunteers for the 32nd Annual Woods Hole Film Festival (Saturday, July 29th through Saturday, August 5th, 2023), and for our year-round screenings and events. (See more details and information below.)
To become a volunteer register in our volunteer system. We ask that you work a minimum of four shifts during the Festival and attend one of the scheduled volunteer orientation meetings.
Registration for 2023 now open.
Some of the volunteer positions take place prior to the Festival. The list below represents the positions available at this time, however, check back often because the list will be updated throughout the year.
Requirements: All volunteers must be over 21, have your own transportation and housing, must be fully vaccinated and apply by all Covid protocols and agree to abide by all Festival rules and code of conduct.
VOLUNTEERS FOR FESTIVAL WILL BE MOST NEEDED FOR THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:
- Venue Operations for festival screenings
- Special Events operations for other events
- Program guide distribution
- Box Office Assistance
- Ushers
- Screening vouchers subject to availability
- Festival Swag
- Snacks on many occasions
- Tons of New Friends
- Invitations to parties and festival activities
- Meet and greet filmmakers and screenwriters

Volunteer Positions for 32nd Woods Hole Film Festival, Summer 2023
Venue Managers: July 29 – August 5
Duties include: Managing operations at assigned venue, including screenings, panel discussions. Will coordinate with operations manager, venue assistants, filmmakers and patrons.
Pre-Festival – Distribute posters, flyers and information throughout the local area – May, June, July
Pre-Festival – Box Office Ticket and information sales – July 1st – 28th, 2023
Festival Box Office Ticket and Merchandise Sales and Information – July 25 – August 5
Duties include: Selling tickets and merchandise daily throughout the Festival. Must be friendly and enjoy working with the public.
Venue Operations – July 29th – August 5th
Duties include: Distributing and collecting ballots, scanning tickets and helping to provide information.
