A leaf sheep (Costasiella kuroshimae) is a tiny, adorable species of sea slug—or sacoglossan sea slug—that looks remarkably like a cartoon sheep or a leaf. Found in shallow tropical waters near Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines, these creatures are famous for being one of the few animals in the world that can perform photosynthesis.

Every good film starts with a good story. The 2018 finalists will be posted online by the end of June. The winners of the 2018 Screenwriting Competition will be announced at the awards ceremony on closing night on Saturday, August 4th. Winner and 1st Runner-Up awards may be given in the following categories: Comedy Feature; Dramatic Feature; Comedy Short; Dramatic Short.

The 2026 Woods Hole Film Festival is presented by Liam Maguire’s Irish Pub and 88.7 mvyradio.
